A Sappington man is facing charges after police said he took his children, whom he does not have custody of, from their mother’s home in November and left the state with them.
The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued a warrant Nov. 30 against suspect Christopher Gonzalez, 43, of St. Louis, for one count of interference with custody.
According to police, Gonzalez took his children from the 9200 block of Confederacy Drive in Sappington Nov. 28, despite an active order through St. Louis County Courts that prohibits him from contacting his children.
An Endangered Person Advisory was issued for the missing children, 12-year old Michael Gonzalez and 15-year-old Maya Gonzalez, the same day. The children were found safe by police in Alberta Lea, Minnesota, with Gonzalez Nov. 29.
According to police, Gonzalez is being held on a $20,000 bond, cash only.
