Southern Armory in Crestwood saw its second recent robbery attempt last weekend, but no guns were stolen from the gun shop this time.

The Crestwood Police Department is investigating a burglary that happened about 3:45 a.m. June 23.at Southern Armory, 9901 Watson Road. The gun store was previously robbed in November in a case that appears unrelated, police Chief Ron Compton said.

Police said several suspects in a burgundy car and a silver car approached the gun store and broke a window with what appeared to be a crowbar. The suspects entered the store, but were unable to access any weapons.

They then fled the building and left the area in an unknown direction.

No weapons were stolen and nothing is missing, the business owner told police. The Police Department is attempting to obtain any surveillance video, and the case is under investigation.

Anyone with information about the attempted burglary should contact the Crestwood Police Department at (314) 729-4800.
