The Alliance for Retired Americans awarded Larry Malone of Fenton a scholarship to attend the alliance’s national convention based on outstanding advocacy for Missouri’s seniors.

Malone joined more than 400 retiree activists at the convention, which took place earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nev.

To ensure attendance of the nation’s most dedicated and accomplished senior advocates, the Alliance for Retired Americans granted 10 scholarships nationally, which cover the cost of the national convention.

Alliance President Barbara Easterling stated in a news release, “We are very impressed with the work of Mr. Malone on behalf of Missouri’s aging population. His tireless work on issues affecting Missouri’s seniors is an inspiration.”

Malone stated in the release, “I’m interested in helping to solve some of the problems that people face when they leave the work force and retire.”

He added, “… I will continue to build our retiree organization in Missouri and help address seniors’ issues.”
