Sappington Elementary School kindergarten pupils and their third-grade buddies recently stuffed pillows for St. John’s Mercy Medical Center patients. The pillows will be used at the hospital as cough pillows after patients have surgery. Enclosed in each pillow is a star with well wishes for the patient from the kindergarten pupil. On the outside is a similar star with the pupil’s first name and age to let patients know someone out there is thinking of them. The holiday project to help others was a great example of Lindbergh’s character word for December — caring.
