Detectives are investigating the November homicide of 52-year-old Oakville resident Emil Schmidt IV.
Per a police report, officers from the South County Precinct responded to a call for a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Greycliff Bluff Drive at 11:18 p.m. on Nov. 18. Schmidt, unresponsive, was located inside the residence. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment, but later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Nov. 29.
It was revealed that an altercation occurred between Schmidt and an unnamed adult male inside the residence. A physical struggle ensued, and Schmidt was incapacitated.
A person of interest has been taken into custody.
