Rep. Doug Beck, D-Affton, will host a reception this weekend to officially reveal the signs designating parts of Gravois Road and Highway 30 “Officer Blake Snyder Memorial Highway.”

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Affton Fire Protection District headquarters, 9282 Gravois Road.

Snyder served in the St. Louis County Police Department’s Affton Southwest Precinct and had been an officer for four years when he was shot and killed while responding to a disturbance call in Green Park Oct. 6, 2016.

During the 2018 legislative session, Beck filed House Bill 2330, which designates a portion of Highway 30 in Affton “Officer Blake Snyder Memorial Highway” in the officer’s honor. The measure unanimously cleared the House on March 13.

“I am grateful that we are honoring Officer Snyder’s contributions and legacy in a significant way,” Beck said.
