Officer honored during ‘Respect for Law’ gala

The Mehlville Optimist Club recently honored St. Louis County Police Officer Brad Murray during its “Respect for Law” celebration.

Murray has been employed with the St. Louis County Police Department for more than 20 years, according to a news release.

Before joining the department, he was a member of the U.S. Armed Forces from 1986 to 1991, where he served in the Army during the Persian Gulf War, as well as the Panama Conflict. He was assigned to a Military Police Unit during his service with the Army.

Murray recently was assigned to the position of field training officer in the South County Precinct.

His beat encompasses the South County Center, where he frequently makes arrests, the release stated. He also has established a positive working relationship with many businesses in the mall. Murray leads his platoon in the number of arrests made.

He received an associate degree in criminal justice from Central Texas College.

Murray has received numerous awards, commendations and citizen letters throughout his law-enforcement career.
