Chris Ramey, Oakville Middle School’s band director, recently received the Missouri Music Educators Association’s David B. Goodwin Outstanding Young Music Educator Award.
The award is given annually to one young music educator in Missouri who has shown “extraordinary promise, diligence and success.”
To qualify, teachers must have between three and seven years of experience in the classroom, two or more of which must be in Missouri. They must also be current members of the Missouri Music Educators Association who have been members for at least two years.
Additionally, each application must be accompanied by at least two letters of recommendation. It is recommended – but not required – that at least one of the letters of recommendation is completed by a current administrator or supervisor.
Ramey will be recognized for his achievement at the first general session of the annual Missouri Music Educators Association in-service workshop/conference held at the Tan-Tar-A Conference Center in Osage Beach, Missouri from Jan. 26-28.
Ramey will also appear in the May issue of Missouri School Music Magazine.
