The 385 students in Oakville High School’s graduating Class of 2019 received their diplomas June 2 at the school’s first graduation ceremony at Chaifetz Arena. It was also the last graduation ceremony of retiring Principal Jan Kellerman. With only one-third of the class reporting, the Mehlville School District said that Oakville High graduates earned nearly $11 million in college scholarships.

Under longtime Mehlville tradition, former Board of Education members can hand their children their diplomas. This year, current board member Peggy Hassler handed the diploma to her daughter Madi, shown above with Assistant Principal Jason Buatte, and former board members David Gralike, Ron Fedorchak, Karl Frank Jr. and Erin Weber also could take the opportunity to hand their children diplomas.
