This year is the 70th anniversary of the Nottelmann Music Company. To celebrate, the company presented an All-Star Jazz Showcase on Nov. 4, pictured above, to benefit Central and Visual Performing Arts High School.
On Oct. 24, 2022, a mass shooting occurred at CVPA, killing two people and injuring seven. The school and music program are still recovering.
The showcase featured the Jim Manley Band, the Funky Butt Brass Band, the Webster Faculty Jazz Ensemble, the Kendrick Smith Quartet, the Jazz St. Louis JazzU All-Stars, the Claire Maue Trio and pianist Ken Kehner.
In all, the showcase raised $8,500 for CVPA High School.
