No election this summer for Bayless Board of Education

There will be no election this year for the Bayless Board of Education since three people, all incumbents, filed for the three open seats.

The election, originally set for April 7, has been postponed until June 2 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Board President Jeffery Preisack and members Tom Wood and Laura Van Zale all filed for another term on the school board.

They were the only candidates to do so and, since it is an uncontested election, a formal election will not be held.

Van Zale and Wood were first elected to the board in 2011. Preisack has served on the board since 2007.

The school board is comprised of seven members, each with three-year terms. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Bayless Elementary Library.
