Musick Road reopened Monday after roughly six months of being shut down for bridge replacement.
The road had been closed between Meath Drive and Lavinia Drive since October, as a county contractor removed and replaced a 70-year-old bridge over Sappington Creek.
Roughly 5,000 vehicles drive this section of Musick on a typical weekday.
The new bridge consists of two lanes, one lane in each direction, and a sidewalk with a concrete wall to protect pedestrians from passing traffic. The old bridge did not have a sidewalk.
KCI Construction performed the job under an $837,000 county contract.
