Commencement programs conducted last week for Mehlville and Oakville senior high schools saw 866 students receive diplomas from the Mehlville School District.
Mehlville High graduated 397 students at its program at the Family Arena, while Oakville High handed out diplomas to 469 students at its program at the UMB Bank Pavilion.
Five students at Mehlville High compiled a perfect 4.0 grade-point average and earned valedictorian honors. They are: Karen Hines, Carla Hoppe, Tracy Loveless, David Mues and Michael Rangel.
Mehlville also had five students earning salutatorian honors, those with the second-highest grade-point average at the school. They are: Kaitlyn Deutsch, Jason Gatmaitan, Jessica Hammerstone, Amanda Hoylman and Adam Paulitsch.
Mehlville’s Class of 2004 earned scholarships totaling a four-year value of $1,862,906. Of the 397 Mehlville graduates, 368 have indicated they will attend college, pursue vocational training or enlist in the military.
Oakville High saw 14 students post a perfect 4.0 grade-point average and earn valedictorian status. They are: Joey Colletti, Shannon Ferguson, Mindy Harris, Tyler Johnson, Natalie Jones, Ismar Karadzic, Tina Knoepp, Todd Kulage, Katie Moulton, Jacob Pressler, Andrew Richardson, Tracy Sambo, Rachel Todd and Tim Wittmann.
Oakville had one student selected as salutatorian, Mallory Herr.
Oakville’s Class of 2004 earned scholarship money totaling $3,400,237. Also, 417 of the 469 Oakville graduates have indicated they will attend college, pursue vo-cational training or enlist in the military.
Tracy Loveless and Carla Hoppe of Mehlville High also were recognized for achieving perfect attendance during all four years of high school.
