Crestwood Ward 1 Alderman Mimi Duncan was named board president at the April 23 meeting, after being nominated by Ward 2 Alderman Justin Charboneau.
“As someone who served previously as the board president, I know it is, although ceremonial, it is an important job as we’ve seen in the last two years… We need to select someone that we feel is prepared to lead the city if something were to happen and the mayoral spot opened up,” said Charboneau.
“I would like to nominate someone that I’ve learned to work with. I think they are an asset to this board. I think they have dedication to the city and I think that they are ready to step up if needed if something were to happen.”
There were no other nominations, and Duncan was named board president.
