The Mehlville Fire Protection District will conduct child safety seat inspections Saturday, Jan. 28, at its district headquarters, 11020 Mueller Road, Green Park.

Child safety seat inspections will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Installation technicians will be available to give instructions on how to properly in-stall a child safety seat or inspect a seat for safety or proper installation. No appointments are necessary for Saturday’s event, according to a district news release.

“The child safety seat inspection event is in conjunction with a 32-hour installation technician training class being held at the district’s headquarters. At the conclusion of this class the fire district will have 15 individuals nationally certified as car safety seat technicians,” MFPD Deputy Chief Joe Schmidt stated in the release.

“This will allow us to conduct child safety seat inspections at various engine houses. The district plans to hold three additional child safety seat technician classes during the upcoming year. It is the goal of the district to bring the number of certified technicians available in the district to approximately 40 by year end,” he added.
