Blades Elementary fourth-graders came up with New Year’s resolutions they’ll work on this year.
Connor — My resolution is to work better.
Ulpiana — I want to try to be more creative. For example, I want to draw more kinds of animals and other organisms. Another example is that I am going to learn more about life and nature so I can draw other animals that I have never heard of. I will also draw every day to try to improve my drawing skills. That is my New Year’s resolution.
Ella — I want to get along with my brother. I’m going to try to get along with my brother by playing video games with him. For example, we can play Call of Duty, Modern Warfare and a couple others. I could also play outside with him. For example, we could ride our scooters, bikes and pogo sticks. I’m also going to make him breakfast, lunch and dinner. And that’s how I’m going to get along with my brother.
Alyssa — The goal I set for myself is getting better at math skills and getting along with my sister. I would improve by leaving her alone and treat her like she wants to be treated.
Cayden — I want to play football outside with my dad so I can be more athletic and not be lazy.
Ethan — I want to be better at math and I want to be better at soccer and I also want to be better at jiu jitsu and to show grit every day.
Anaja — I want to get better at sports. For example, I’ve never been in a sport. Another example is, sports keep you healthy. Also sports are fun. I am also going to practice at home. Lastly I am going to try out for a sport. Also I’m excited for going to Orlando, Florida for summer!
Ella — I want to get better at gymnastics. For example, I am going to get my long-hang kip with straight arms. What I will do to get that is practice more. Lastly, I am excited to go to Florida for a gymnastics competition. I will be as good as Simone Biles.
Claire — I am going to get in the next level for dance. For example, I will listen to my dance teachers the first time and improve my skills and I will practice my dances at home. I will work on my goal until I reach it. I am looking forward to going on my first dance competition.
Aubrey — I can become a better gymnast. For example when my coach gives me a correction I am going to make the correction! Why I want to get better is so I can move up to level 5! How am I going to do this? I will be very tight.
Bella — I want to learn how to spell more words. I’m also looking forward to seeing my cousins.
Luke — I am looking forward to this year because I want to get better at math. First way to get better at math is to do more iReady lessons. Final way to get better at math is to do my homework. I’m not good at math YET!
Finley — I am looking forward because I am going to be nice to other people. I will achieve my goal by being nice on the bus and in all the classes.
Blades Elementary second-graders are also looking forward to 2020.
Dominic — I am going to get better at reading. I can read harder books. I am also going to get better at soccer. I can practice soccer at my house.
Ava — I am going to get better at reading by reading every night. I am also going to get better at soccer by passing the ball a lot. And I am going to get better at math by working hard and doing math better. I am going to get better at music by looking at the teacher a lot.
Adna — I am going to get better at writing. I am also going to get better at puzzles. I’m kind of bad at it so ya.
Eiley — I am going to get better at reading … because I need to read more and more. I am also going to get better at writing … because to spell my words better. I also going to get better at music … so I can focus on the teacher.
McArthur — I want to be better at baseball because I cannot play that good. I want to be better at jumping high because I cannot jump high like my brother.
Lillie — I want to be better at eating healthy. I can be better at eating healthy by eating my vegetables. I want to be better at math. I can be better at math by thinking with my head.
Violet — I want to get better at math because math is hard. I want to get better at being a friend because I want to be a better friend. I want to get better at gymnastics. I just want to get better.
Grace—I am going to get better at reading by reading more. I am also going to get better at riding my bike by practicing.
Adalyn — I want to be better at writing so I will spell more stuff. I want to be better at piano so I can play more songs and learn more things.
Tommy — I am going to get better at writing. I can check my work. I am also going at soccer. I can practice at my shot.
Vedad — I want to be better at soccer. I can try and not quit. I want to be better at reading. I can read every day.
Landon — I am going to be better at soccer because I need to have more practice. I need to work reading.
Zach — I am going to get better at reading. I am also going to get better at karate.
Giavanna — I am going to get better at reading. By reading harder books. I am also going to get better at riding an electric scooter. I am also going to get better at painting by painting more.
Josephine — I am going to get better at PE. I am going to get better at PE by exercising more. I am also going to get better at basketball by paying more attention!
Mayla — I am going to get better at math. I can do better. I am also going to get better at basketball.
Elaina — I am going to get better at gymnastics. I am also going to get better at dance. I am also going to get better at writing. I am also going to get better at math.
Charlie — I am going to get better at reading. I am also going to get better at writing.
