The Mehlville School District will sponsor a Community Wellness Fair Friday, Nov. 17, at Mehlville Senior High School, 3200 Lemay Ferry Road.

At the Community Wellness Fair, scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m., Mehlville residents will be able to learn about living a safe and healthy life. Flu shots will be offered at a discounted price of $20, and Mehlville School District nurses will offer free blood pressure screenings. Tables will be set up with tips about home safety, nutrition and information about the Mehlville School District 60 Plus Club for senior citizens.

The Missouri Baptist Medical Center’s Mammography Van will be on site from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to provide screenings for men and women. Mammography screenings are covered by most insurance plans, and Missouri Baptist Medical Center officials suggest that residents check with their medical insurance provider to verify benefits and eligibility. In addition, residents are required to bring an insurance card to the appointment.

An appointment is recommended for the mammography screening and can be made by calling (314) 996-5170 or (800) 870-5731. The breast cancer screening process takes about 10 minutes.
