Mehlville hosts International Club Festival Saturday

Food, crafts, games and entertainment from around the world will be the centerpiece of the Mehlville School District’s second annual International Club Festival, which will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Bernard Middle School, 1054 Forder Road.

Admission is free. The festival will be outside, weather permitting, or in the Bernard cafeteria and gym in case of rain.

Attendees will be able to “visit” a dozen new countries this year, according to a news release. Visitors will be able to enjoy 20 different foods from 10 countries, watch international dancers who feature the flair of Afro-Caribe, Germany, Croatia, Bosnia and other cultures that are part of the Mehlville community. A large number of vendors also will be at the festival.

All proceeds will be donated to Heifer International, which provides livestock to residents in underdeveloped countries as a way to support their families and build businesses. Last year’s International Club Festival raised $1,000, which provided animals to 10 families in 10 countries.
