Mr. Payer died at St. Anthony’s Medical Center.

Born in St. Louis, Mr. Payer resided in Arnold. He was a retired animal keeper at the St. Louis Zoo.

Survivors include his sisters, Loretta Shaw, Florence Kulik, Lucille O’Leary and Margaret Lienhop. Mr. Payer was preceded in death by his parents, Louis C. and Clara Payer; brothers, Louis Pay-er, Irwin Payer, Arthur Payer and Charles Payer; and sister, Mildred Henning.

Services and visitation were at John L. Ziegenhein and Sons, south county. Burial was in Resurrection Cemetery.
