The Sunset Hills Police Department has arrested Kenny Johnson, 37, and charged him with trespassing, three counts of assault and two counts of harassment for actions taken on Oct. 6. Charges are merely an accusation. Johnson is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
At approximately 6 a.m. on that day, Johnson entered a Circle K located at 1435 S. Kirkwood Road, where he had repeatedly trespassed in the past and had been asked to stay off the premises. He has been arrested numerous times by both the Sunset Hills and Kirkwood police departments for offenses like trespassing, sexual misconduct, sexual abuse, assault, resisting arrest and aggressive panhandling. Johnson has remarked that he will continue his actions.
When a clerk at the Circle K notified police and asked Johnson to leave the premises, Johnson refused and punched the clerk in the face. Once police officers arrived, they arrested Johnson and took him to the Sunset Hills Police Station. There, he threatened to kill officers and burn the police station to the ground. At the St. Louis County Jail, Johnson reportedly became aggressive, spitting in an officer’s face and threatening to kill him.
Johnson has been on probation for harassment and resisting arrest in the Circuit Court of St. Louis County, where he pleaded guilty on July 17. The state has requested a warrant in this matter.
