Long Elementary Girl Scouts show appreciation for voters

During this year’s election season, Long Elementary School Girl Scout Troop 2418 launched Project Thank a Voter, an effort to encourage voter registration and show appreciation for citizens who exercised their civic duty on election day.

Troop members created signs to encourage voter registration and placed them in local businesses around the community.

Then, on Election Day, they distributed drinks and treats to voters at Truman Middle School, along with Girl Scouts from Sappington, Crestwood, Concord, Truman and Sperreng.

The local troop also recruited 650 fellow Girl Scouts throughout Greater St. Louis to set up similar efforts at their local polling stations.
