The Lindbergh Schools Technology Department was awarded the 2021 MidwestTechTalk Excellence Award last week.

The department was awarded July 20 by MidWestTech Talk for its flexibility, innovation and continuous improvement to the support needs of staff and student learning.

MidwestTechTalk is made up of Missouri Information Technology professionals in the education field

“Over the last two years, Lindbergh’s technology department has gone through a complete overhaul, embracing change and continuous improvement in support of their students and staff,” Chief Academic Officer Tara Sparks said in a news release. “This team prioritizes the needs of our students and works tirelessly to ensure learning is positively impacted by technology.”

After a comprehensive assessment of the district’s technology services in 2019, the department transitioned the district from one where students bring their own devices to school, to a 1:1 system that provides devices for every student and supports the growth of blended learning.

The transition required the technology department to make improvements to district infrastructure for increased security.

The department also worked to ensure that students had access to devices and Wi-FI during the pandemic.
