Lindbergh Schools has been categorized as a top performing district by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, as of the November release of the 2024-2025 Annual Performance Report (APR).
Lindbergh received a score of 187 out of 200 possible points, earning the school district an overall score of 93.5%. In Missouri, only 66 out of 553 public school districts and charter schools scored above the 90% mark. Other South County school districts to surpass 90% include Mehlville (91.7% ) and Bayless (92.7% — a whopping 10.7 point increase from the previous year).
“This is something really to be proud of in terms of the work we are doing to support student learning and achievement,” said Lindbergh’s Chief Academic Officer Tara Sparks.
APR scores are based on the district’s progress — educators, students, parents and community — toward meeting the standards of the Missouri School Improvement Program. 70% of APR scoring is based on student performance data, and the other 30% is based on “continuous improvement measurements” related to the school district.
“Over the past several years, we have been moving away from a culture of ‘teaching to the (MAP) test’ and forward toward a more meaningful, impactful model where teachers give multiple assessments throughout the year and personalize learning for students,” Lindbergh Schools Superintendent Tony Lake said. “This allows teachers to receive timely feedback on student learning and personalize instruction in real time, which ultimately benefits students and results in increased academic growth and achievement. This also allows parents to see their students’ progress throughout the year and empowers students to understand and direct their own learning as well.”
In 2024, Lindbergh scored 91.2%; in 2023, the district scored 90.3%; in 2022, the district scored 86.7%.
