Lindbergh School District slates two Prop R meetings Oct. 21

Lindbergh School District officials will conduct two informational meetings next week about Proposition R 2008, a bond issue that voters will consider Nov. 4.

The meetings will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, in the boardroom of the Administration Building, 4900 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

The Board of Education placed the $31 million bond issue on the ballot to address overcrowding at Sperreng Middle School.

Sperreng is overcrowded and simply out of space to hold the number of pupils and programs required, according to a district news release. The bond issue will allow the district to open a second middle school by converting Truman Elementary into a middle school.

“Prop R allows us to use the buildings we have, renovate them where needed, and do it all without a tax increase,” Board of Education President Kenneth A. Fey stated in the release.
