One of the narrators in Lindbergh Schools' production of "Beauty and the Beast Jr." looks out into the crowd, awaiting her turn to speak.
For the first time in six years, Lindbergh Schools put together an all-district, student-run musical production: “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” Over 250 students from kindergarten through eighth grade participated in the show, so there were two alternating casts. Every elementary and middle school in the district was represented.
“Kids are doing the lighting. Kids are moving the sets. Kids are doing the props, the costume changes. Middle schoolers are stage managers, and we have a student director,” Melissa Mitchell, Long Elementary School’s IT professional, said. “We’re stepping back, and the kids are running everything.”
The show ran from Jan. 14 through 18 at Lindbergh High School.
