Lindbergh High teacher awarded $3,000 grant for STEM education

Lindbergh High School will offer a new Biomedical Science course next year thanks to a $3,000 Dannette Ward Science Education Grant from Monsanto’s STEM Education Outreach Program.

Sarah Nash, Monsanto outreach communications specialist, presented LHS Honors Biology teacher Andrew Edwards with the grant.

He will work with the Science Department to create a new course for students through Project Lead the Way called Biomedical Sciences. Funds from the grant will be used to buy equipment for students to use in class, including Labquests, which allow students to use different technological instruments to collect, monitor and study data, according to a news release.
