Library, South County school districts announce closures Thursday

Lindbergh Schools announced Wednesday that the district will be closed Thursday, Dec. 22, as the St. Louis region braces for a winter storm and wind chill temperatures below zero.

All district activities, including school-age Flyer Club and Lindbergh Early Childhood Education. District buildings will be closed Friday Dec. 23, as well and students will not return to school until after winter break Jan. 5.

Other school districts in South County that will be closed Thursday include the Affton School District, including all before and after school activities and Cougar Care. There will not be a virtual learning day; however; classes will resume after winter break Wednesday, Jan. 4, which will become a reschedule early dismissal and half day for all Affton School. Affton High School will hold any remaining final exams that day. The last day of school will remain as scheduled on Friday, May 26.

Both the Bayless School District and Hancock Place will be closed Thursday and Friday as well and all activities canceled. Students will not return to class until after winter break for their respective districts.

The Mehlville School District is already on its scheduled winter break.

The St. Louis County Library also announced Wednesday that all library branches are closed Thursday due to the expected inclement weather. Library branches are also closed Dec. 25, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1 and Jan. 2.
