With a roster that is bursting at the seams with a total of 26, the Lindbergh girls golf team is hoping that depth is what leads to success at this year’s district championships in October.
“Probably our largest freshman turnout we’ve had this year,” Lindbergh head coach Mike Tyler said. “We only lost two players from last year’s squad.”
The golfer to keep an eye on this season is junior Reese Reinhardt.
“Reese is probably the hardest working player that I’ve ever coached,” Tyler said. “Her work ethic is second to none and not only is she a great player who will always be in the hunt at every tournament, she’s a smart player who manages the course and her play very well.”
Lindbergh also has a group of seniors in Quincy Meyer, Alison To, Genna Wors, Anna Schrage, Brooke McKenney, Mila Snowert and Allie Boeger that, with Reinhardt, should give the Flyers a formidable lineup.
“Our seniors come to the team with a lot of experience,” Tyler said. “The seniors are great at working with the junior varsity players and they really lead by example.”
Juniors Maddy Boyd and Audrey Scarpace along with sophomore Caroline Dull are also strong players that add to the lineup.
“With so many returning players and such a large number of junior varsity players, we look to have a lot of success in the upcoming years,” Tyler said. “Most of our core tournament team members are returning and have been working since mid-October when our 2022 season ended.”
The Flyers opened their season Monday.
