If there was one piece of advice that Lindbergh head tennis coach Chloe Pruitt gave to her players last year, it was to come to the 2025 season in peak playing condition.
“Things are looking really good this season,” Pruitt said. “We have over 50 girls on this year’s team, and they’ve come into practice very fit. I think they took my advice about coming into the season in shape.”
As far as leadership, senior Mira Wissel will serve as the team captain this season.
“Mira has really been looking out for everyone and making them feel included on this year’s team,” Pruitt said. “She’s really been focusing more on power this year and I believe she’s going to have a great year.”
Another senior who’s shown improvement in the offseason is Helen Freudel.
“I’m really excited to see how she’ll perform this season,” Pruitt said. “She spent a lot of time at tennis camp down in Texas, and it shows.”
Junior Jocelyn Davidson and sophomore Gabby Moran were also shouted out by Pruitt for coming into the 2025 campaign energized and ready to go.
“Jocelyn’s great for team atmosphere and energy. She’s more comfortable on the court and has really taken a step into that leadership role this year,” Pruitt said. “Gabby is a soccer player who comes into the season very fit. She’s been battling it out, and I’m looking forward to seeing her play as well.”
The Flyers kick off the 2025 season at home against Ursuline Academy on Sept. 2.
