Heather Sutton, a junior at Hancock Place High School, will attend the Se-condary School Pro-gram this summer at Harvard Univer-sity in Cambridge, Mass.
Sutton is one of roughly 1,000 high school students from the United States and abroad who will spend eight weeks experiencing college life at Harvard, America’s oldest university. She will leave in late June.
Much of her experience at Harvard will resemble that of a freshman at the university. Sutton will experience the excitement of opening weekend, an activities fair and meeting with proctors and roommates. She will reside where Harvard freshmen live and eat her meals in Annenberg Hall.
Participants in Harvard’s Secondary School Program will test themselves academically by taking college-level courses along with undergraduate students as they explore subjects not available at their high schools.
They will work with a distinguished faculty, use well-equipped labs and study in the largest university library system in the world.
Sutton will not only receive an education this summer at Harvard University, but she also will have the opportunity to learn about college living and make some new friends.
