During demolition of Lindbergh High School’s orchestra room Aug. 1, the mural pictured above was uncovered after the room was completely demolished. It is unknown how long the mural was on the original wall but according to the district, it must have been concealed during construction of the orchestra room’s western wall in the late 1980s, when the old district auditorium and performing arts space were updated. The mural has since been taken down with the rest of the orchestra space, which is part of ongoing Proposition R projects.
Prop R was 2019’s no-tax-rate increase bond measure to fund facilities and safety improvements around Lindbergh Schools, including a new Lindbergh High School.
