St. Lucas United Church of Christ, 11735 Denny Road, recently named the Rev. Dr. Keith D. Herron as senior minister.

Herron comes to St. Lucas UCC with a diverse background in education and ministry, and has served as pastor or associate pastor in four churches, spanning 28 years.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in religion and business administration from Baylor University, a master’s degree in religious education from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a doctorate in pastoral counseling and psychotherapy from the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.

Herron most recently served as senior pastor of Holmeswood Baptist Church, Kansas City, an affiliate with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. His leadership experience, as well as his accomplishments in mission work and his ministerial and counseling endeavors, will make him an asset to St. Lucas UCC and the community, a news release stated.
