The Great Rivers Greenway District has selected Oates Associates to provide planning services for the Mississippi River Greenway Master Plan.
Oates expects to complete the master plan by the end of 2011.
The Mississippi River Greenway is one component of The River Ring, a system of greenways, parks and trails throughout the St. Louis region. Oates Associates is the lead planner and landscape architect studying the eight-mile southern section, which stretches from the Gateway Arch in Downtown St. Louis to the River Des Peres.
Oates Associates is analyzing existing conditions affecting the greenway and identifying both off-street trail and on-street connections along the corridor. Once a clear vision of the greenway is created, short-term and long-term SEED (Social Environmental Economic Development) projects will be identified to further the development of The River Ring.
Oates Associates is a multi-disciplined design firm with offices in St. Louis, Missouri and Collinsville, Ill.
