Governor nominates Crestwood man to state panel

JEFFERSON CITY — Gov. Jay Nixon today — Feb. 7 — announced his appointments and nominations to 10 boards and commissions, including a Crestwood resident to the Missouri Community Service Commission.

The appointment of Forest Miller Jr., a Republican from Crestwood, will be subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate, according to a news release.

The mission of the Missouri Community Service Commission is to build stronger communities by fostering an ethic of service in all Missourians through empowering communities and citizens from all walks of life to address educational, public safety, human and environmental needs through volunteer service programs.

Owner of the Royale Orleans in Lemay for 34 years, Miller formerly served as past president of the Missouri Restaurant Association and chairman of the Missouri Restaurant Association Insurance Trust and the Crestwood Economic Development Commission.

The governor has nominated him for a term ending Dec. 15, 2015.
