Gene M. Steffe, 74, died May 23 at SSM St. Clare Health Center.
Mr. Steffe was a retired union truck driver for Schnucks Markets. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was an alderman for the city of Fenton.
In addition, Mr. Steffe was a Little League baseball coach and Little League football coach for many years, and was a board member at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fenton, where he was a member for 40 years. He enjoyed being with his family having celebrations and backyard barbecues, and boating at Table Rock Lake.
Mr. Steffe was an organ donor.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; children, Dianna Simpson, Debra (Shawn) McKelvey, Richard Prater, Steven Steffe and Cindy (Scott) Schwegmann; sisters, Ruth and June; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Steffe was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
A memorial and celebration of Mr. Steffes life was at Our Savior Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Sell officiating.
