The Mehlville Fire Protection District Board of Directors voted last week to promote Firefighter/Paramedic Mike Gapsch to the rank of captain. Gapsch has been with the district since May 1993. Before his promotion, he served as a driver/acting captain of the district’s Heavy Rescue Truck. Before coming to Mehlville, he worked for the Crestwood Fire Department and the High Ridge Fire Protection District. Gapsch lives in Oakville with his wife, Sherrell, and has two daughters, Heather and Ashley.
