Gala celebration to honor retiring superintendent

The “Friends of John Cary Retirement Committee” is planning a gala celebration for the retiring Mehlville School District superintendent.

On Thursday, May 8, at Royale Orleans, 2801 Telegraph Road, the many accomplishments of the district under Cary’s tenure will be celebrated. Cary, who has served as superintendent for the past seven years, announced at the beginning of the school year that he will retire June 30.

Titled “Distinction in Performance — the Man and the District,” the gala will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a non-alcoholic social hour. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by special program at 7:30 p.m. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Tickets cost $25.
