Fund-raiser chases aid for cancer patients

The first “CHASE-ing the CURE” benefit for cancer patients and their families will take place from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday, March 11 at Andre’s Banquet Cen-ter, 4254 Telegraph Road.

The benefit honors 8-year-old Chase Franklin, who died Sept. 10 after a three-year battle with a brain tumor called Type 4 Anaplastic Ependimoma.

Proceeds from the event will support the family of a child combating cancer through the office of Dr. Robert Bergamini of the David C. Platt Cancer Center at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, where Chase rec-eived treatment.

The benefit includes a buffet dinner, dancing and open bar.

Tickets cost $25 per person and donations may be made to CHASE-ing the CURE in care of Missouri State Bank, 1060 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, Mo. 63010.

Benefit sponsors hope to eventually raise enough money to support several families, according to a news release.
