Former Lindbergh school board directors express support for Prop R

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:

We are writing to express our support for Lindbergh Schools’ Proposition R on the April 2 ballot. Prop R will provide necessary safety updates and overdue building upgrades, and touch every school and student in our district. We urge you to vote “Yes” on this crucial initiative.

Prop R 2024 continues the vision of Prop R 2019. This includes the overdue renovation of Truman Middle School, which needs a new roof, central air, and numerous age-related safety upgrades such as intercoms, security cameras and door alarms. Bringing Truman up to the standards of our other schools creates facility equity so that every child can have the same educational and learning experiences, district-wide.

Other safety measures included in Prop R include building storm shelters for elementary schools, and reworking parking lots to streamline drop off and pick up, and eliminate unsafe traffic backup on busy streets.

Finally, we’re thrilled about the revival of the Concord Farmers Club as a PK-12 STEM learning center. This center will connect Lindbergh students with St. Louis’ thriving agricultural industry, and provide experiences for all students that are aligned with Missouri Learning Standards.

Please help us invest in the future for our students and vote “YES” on Proposition R on April 2nd.

O. Victor Lenz
