Oakville Elementary School Principal Meagan Ochoa, pictured above left, poses with students in front of construction equipment June 20 after crews tore down a house next to the school to make way for a new parking lot. The parking lot is part of the district’s 2021 $35 million bond Proposition S, passed in 2021 for facility improvements. The district originally purchased the property with the house in spring 2020 and was able to proceed with construction for the new parking lot after the passage of Prop S last year.
