Oakville Elks Lodge 2726 will sponsor the Elks National “Hoop Shoot” Basketball Free Throw Contest Satur-day, Dec. 10, in Gym B at Oakville High School, 5557 Milburn Road.

The contest is open to children ages 8 to 13. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the contest will begin at 9 a.m.

Besides the mental and physical benefits provided by competing in the Hoop Shoot program, contestants at various levels of competition receive certificates of participation and achievement.

Winners may receive trophies and plaques. The names of national champions are displayed at the Naismith Me-morial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. More than 3 million youngsters participated last year.
