Cornella Josephine “Connie” Schmidt (nee Bollwerk), 91, died Aug. 15.

Mrs. Schmidt served in the U.S. Marine Corps from Dec. 30, 1943, to Dec. 28, 1945.

She enjoyed sewing, reading, Cardinals baseball and singing.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Don Arbuthnot, Gail and Henry Halamicek, Barb and Nick Yocco, Maria Schmidt (fiancé Clay Baer), Eileen and Steve McDonald and Jeanne and John Bell; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Schmidt was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Claude “Red’’ Schmidt; sisters, Florence Kraus, Beatrice Cobb, Anita Hartke and Rita Carter; and brother, Joseph A. Bollwerk.

Services were at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Visitation was at Kutis South County Chapel. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
