I love
Some people have treasures
Of silver and gold
But I have a son, 4 years old
Some people have diamonds and some have pearls
But I have a daughter, a two-year-old girl
I love to hear their laughter and giggles
Especially when they both dance and wiggle
To love the whisper when they pray
And kiss me goodnight at the end of the day
I love the word “Mommy”
That’s ever so sweet
I even love the ground they walk
That is beneath their feet
My Treasures
Some people have treasures
Of silver and gold
But I have a son, 4 years old
Some people have diamonds and some have pearls
But I have a daughter, a two-year-old girl
These are my treasures
My Lord bestowed upon me
To love them, to cherish them
Keep them happy and safe as can be
The years went by, oh so fast
But in my heart
The memories will forever last
So my sweet children
The years have flown
Now you are older
And suddenly grown
But soon I will leave you
Beyond the Heaven blue
But always remember
My last thought will be of you
“Attributed to my son, John, and my daughter, Julie.”
