Candidate filing has officially closed for Missouri’s Aug. 4 primary.
South County will see just one competitive primary race. Kenneth Abram and Mirhad Hasanovic will vie in the Republican primary on Aug. 4 for the Missouri House of Representatives 92nd District. The winner will face incumbent Michael Burton, D-Lakeshire, in the general election on Nov. 3.
Incumbent Bridget Walsh Moore, D-Affton, was the only candidate to file in the 93rd House District.
In the 94th House District, two candidates filed: Republican Maryellen Murphy and Democrat Cathy A. Summers. Jim Murphy, who has been representing the district for eight years, will be term-limited after this legislative session.
Similarly, Missouri House District 95 will see one candidate from each political party. Bob Mahacek is running as a Republican and Meredith Sumenek as a Democrat.
In the 96th House District, incumbent Brad Christ, R-Sappington, will be challenged by Democrat Matt Vitale and Libertarian Shane Ferguson.
