Authorities opened a homicide investigation in South County Saturday night after a box trailer was burned with someone inside in Lemay.

Responding officers from the South County Precinct found a box trailer that had been burned with a person inside.

The person was severely burned and pronounced dead at the scene, the department said.

The Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is leading the homicide investigation, which remains “very active at this time,” the SLCPD said Sunday morning.

Police did not release any other information at this time.
