UrbanStreet Group of Chicago, which owns the former Crestwood Plaza, offered all of the flower bulbs at the mall site to the city of Crestwood if the city was willing to remove them. The city’s Beautification Committee put out the call for help to Boy Scout Troop 580 at Long Elementary School and the Scouts responded. Eight Boy Scouts recently dug up roughly 200 pounds of flower bulbs and rescued them for reuse.
