Blades Elementary School’s orientation for kindergarteners, which took place last week, was a hit with both students and their parents. For the Kindergarten Popsicle Play Date, kindergarten students were able to see their new school, take a bus ride and, of course, eat popsicles. The event was designed to remove the mystery and fears some students might have when starting school, according to John Wolff, Mehlville director of communications and public relations. The event also removes any fears parents may have, as they are able to meet the school’s kindergarten teachers and learn about the curriculum and expectations for kindergarten students, Wolff said.
