Blades Elementary School in the Mehlville School District honored first responders and military members and veterans on Sept. 11 with a special assembly in honor of Patriot Day. Students performed for their honored guests, who included officers from the St. Louis County Police Department and a father from the University City Police Department, Officer Joseph Brewer, above, and also participated in a high-five line.
