South County representatives are hosting a town hall Oct. 30 to address car, home and garage break-ins in the community.
The event is from noon to 2 p.m. at Bernard Middle School, 1054 Forder Road, and will be hosted by Rep. Jim Murphy and Rep. Michael O’Donnell, both R-Oakville.
St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell and South County Precinct Commander Jim Schneider will also be in attendance to discuss the break-ins and what can be done to prevent the crimes. This is the second town hall Bell will attend with Murphy and O’Donnell.
In the past Murphy has targeted legislation at Bell’s powers as prosecuting attorney, proposing a bill allowing police to bypass him and recommend a case to the attorney general if Bell doesn’t take it.
