The annual Turtle Soup and Fish Fry sponsored by the Sappington-Concord Historical Society and the Concord Farmers’ Club will take place Sunday, Aug. 8.
This delicious event will take place from noon to 5:30 p.m. at the Concord Farmers’ Club, 10140 Concord School Road.
Farmers’ Club members will begin pre-paring more than 700 gallons of soup at 4:30 a.m. Sunday to have it ready to serve at noon, according to a news release.
Two food lines will be available to eliminate waiting. People may eat in the open-air shade of the club grounds or in the comfort of the air-conditioned Farmers’ Club. Carry-outs also will be available. All containers will be provided by the society.
The price is $6 for a fish dinner and three sides; a quart of turtle soup is $2. Homemade desserts also will be available for $1.
Entertainment will be provided by the Herb Eberle Orchestra, a well-known band in the Concord Farmers’ Club circle.
Parking is available on the club grounds and at nearby Sperreng Middle or Concord schools.
